On May the 25th 2011 Cathal, Brett, Shay and Veronica went to the NYLD the National Young Leaders Day in Christchruch. It was held at the La-Vida (Halogen Center, Riccarton). We met at 7.30am at Baring Square, and there were 3 buses waiting there for us and when we got on the bus. we shared a bus with all the other schools, and arrived in Christchurch at about 8.30 - 9am. The hosts were Matt, Alice and Whitney and they made us feel very welcomed. The first speaker was Pat Buckley and he was a drug/alchohol counciller and he told us to make right choices because we always have a choice in anything we do. The next speaker was Alison Mooney, she was telling us that it's impossible to be someone your not, so why not be who you are! Our favourite was Christian Gallan, he was telling us about the X factor and giving us tips to be friendly people. The 4th speaker was Adam Hall, he has spineabifita but won a gold medal at the paralimpics. He taught us to never give up on our dreams, practice make permanant, dream it, live it, love it. Last speaker of the day was Jason Gunn, he told us don't waste your talent. Over all was amazing opportunity, we all loved it! By Brett, Cathal, Shay and Veronica
